Earthquake Drill
Today in class we had a GREAT teachable moment. While in the middle of studying The Great Alaskan Earthquake, we had a surprise earthquake drill. Just thought I would share a couple of quick photos with everyone.
It was convenient with what you were studying (considering this is the second time I can remember doing an earthquake drill in the last few years.) I think my students were falling asleep.
I was in an earthquake! They're quite regular in New Zealand as were part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. It was way back in 1987 and the class shock and I know we should have all hid under our desks (I was 13 at the time) but we all ran to the window to have a look... no one was injured just property damage...

ReplyDeleteI think that today was the first time I have ever been in a earthquake drill as a teacher or student....very random.
